Warm welcome to the new Associate Newsletter Editor, Dr. Tianen Chen, to join ICCA steering committee!

Tianen Chen (PhD, Cornell University) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of South Florida. His research explores how strategic health communication can promote the well-being of marginalized populations, with a particular focus on racial and sexual minorities. His recent work examines the roles of social support, interpersonal conversations, and identity-related factors in shaping responses to persuasive health messages in the contexts of HIV prevention, HPV prevention, cancer screening, and mental health. He employs mixed-methods and audience-centered approaches to inform the design and delivery of health interventions.
