ICCA (Former CCA since 1990) is a nonprofit professional and academic organization registered and headquartered in the United States.

▸ Founded in 1990, ICCA is the oldest international professional society aiming to promote, enhance, and facilitate scholarly activities and exchanges on Chinese communication

 ▸ Broadly defined to embrace any aspect of communication studies concerning Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, the global Chinese diaspora, and Chinese influence overseas.

ICCA-ICA International Reception Overview

ICCA has held an annual International Reception during the prestigious International Communication Association conference (ICA) since 2014. (As ICA turned virtual during COVID-19 pandemic, no receptions occured 2020 to 2022)

ICCA receptions bring together hundreds of Chinese communication scholars across the globe and noted international scholars who are interested in interacting with us, including several ICA presidents.

This important platform fosters international networking, academic exchange, community bonding, and scholarly impacts.

Beyond the reception, ICCA also organizes a research panel focused on Chinese communication, hosts social gatherings to strengthen community ties, and holds an awards ceremony to encourage and recognize outstanding scholars and students.
